Kei Fire Trucks

What the hecc??

I did an incredibly silly thing this year.

I bought a Subaru Sambar kei truck with some insurance money after my old car caught fire at 70 mph. But I didn’t just buy any kei truck.

I bought a Subaru Sambar kei fire truck.

That’s right, they made kei class fire trucks for narrow roads, off road, volunteer brigades, and other uses. Since many of these vehicles are over 25 years old, you can import them to the USA.

So naturally I needed to make the thing complete because I wanted a fully functional fire truck. Some stuff like the siren, search light, pump housing, etc were all there. Some stuff was not like the ladder, pump itself, and all the hand tools.

After managing to track down a lot of supplies and parts, I decided to share that knowledge with the community and build a resource for kei fire truck owners of all models. Though still a work in progress, it’s been laid out to allow anyone to submit content for inclusion.

Checkout https://keifiretrucks.com to see all the details of these ridiculously awesome little cars.

Of course, when I bought the vehicle I had to childishly make the siren noises the entire drive home. SUBAAWWWEEEEeeeeOOOOooo WWEEEOOoooooo
